We found SIDE HOLE in Marsha Schuchard’s book WHY MRS BLAKE CRIED- William Blake and the Sexual Basis of Spiritual Vision. All about the curious characters & groups that surrounded him as he grew. It seems that lots of them venerated the wound in Christ’s side as a sexual thing. (The sexuality around Christ is quite fascinating.)

We would say go for the Gnostic thing if you need support: Abraham, Christ & the Muslim thing are far to patriarchal. Swing low sweet chariot.
